As a blind traveller I have to compliment the staff, you were brilliant!! Never did I feel like a blind person staying at Misty Waves. To reception: Thank you for naturally offering me your arm on arrival. Thank you for giving me a tour of the room, where everything was and the small changes to make my stay comphortable. ( like separating brown and white sugar and informing me what teas were avaliable in the room, getting the hairdryer out and put it infront of the mirror and making sure I knew what side hot and cold was on the shower and bath taps) Thank you offering to take me to the restaurant and arrange for a staff member to collect me for breakfast without having to ask. Thank you for speaking to me in a normal way. To the Restaurant staff: You made sure I blend in with other guests without drawing any attention to the blind person in the room. Thank you for speaking to me in n normal way. Thank you for not handing me a menu but informing me - " what's on the menu tonight." Thank you for telling me when my plate was hot and to take care. Thank you for telling me where's what on my plate. Thank you for filling my wine and water without having to ask. Breakfast: You would never know how much I appreciated having a seamless buffet breakfast. Thank you!! Most of all thank you to all the staff for your consistent service, friendliness and attention to detail.

This was our 8th stay at the fabulous Misty Waves an exceptional hotel in every sense of the word. The decor, the beds and linen, towels etc were of the highest quality pool area was delightful full of comfortable beds, chairs and umbrellas. Food at the Heritage was superb. The Staff were absolutely wonderful, pleasant, helpful and chatty, really an asset to the Misty Waves. Easy parking at no extra cost, coffee station regularly filled. Bathroom in our penthouse suite (we were upgraded) was heaven with quality toiletries. Management really go that extra mile to ensure a fabulous stay. We are now in another 4 star hotel (won’t name it yet) who charge to fill the coffee station after the first day. A charge is also made if you wish to use the spa bath ! You can use it without charge if you do not fill it past the jets ! Parking charges apply too. This hotel should learn from the well run and hotel guest friendly Misty Waves.

Quirky boutique hotel, our room had a sea view as requested and was comfortable and spotless. Great location and we could walk everywhere. Breakfasts were particularly good with a large variety of foods on offer, the homemade granola was excellent and the fresh smoothies exceptional. Staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel has their breakfasts in their hotel The Heritage, which was open on Saturday evening and we booked to go there. We were so pleased that we decided on this restaurant, the food was excellent and the chef personally in attendance. He had made us a taster of mushroom soup and a cocktail roll and unfortunately the mushroom soup was not yet an item on the menu. It was the best mushroom soup I've tasted. We shared a plate of gnocchi to start and then both had Fresh hake with lemon butter sauce, potato puree and fresh vegetables and then shared a creme brulee to end. Really exceptional food, so well cooked.

The location was excellent,i stayed in Room 401 and loved it,no disturbance from other guests and a stunning room, modern furniture combined with the Victorian age, i also noticed a 16-seat Cinema;this was a 1st. The Wi-Fi connection was stable until after 7pm and then i could not complete my work, this is truly the only problem i had, they can definitely do an upgrade to fibre and i am able to assist as that is my line of work In total i would rate it a 9 out of 10 (Only because of the Wi-Fi. Will definitely see me again!

Staff very helpful - especially James who helped with our heavy & Lee-Ann who spent time with us to find the best places to visit & eat. Pool area very nice too! I did read some negative reviews of this hotel but after our 2 nights here I’m very glad I booked. I don’t know what some people expect for the cost here - but definitely go for the sea facing suites as they are not that much more than a deluxe room! & remember / you get what you pay for!! Recommend Ficks beach bar & restaurant 2 mins walk.
